I give you my S2 Peugeot 106 Rallye 16v

30 05 2008

I have set up this page purely to track the progress of  106 Rallye 16v. I thought it would be easy to document it on this blog rather than constantly having to put up new posts on all the various websites that I am apart of.

Hopefully we will see the car go from its very sorry state to a, once again, great 106!

I bought the car on the 2nd July 2007 and the progress has been very slow ever since. I spotted it for sale on a local motoring webiste called http://www.reallymeansounds.com and decided to go have a look at it as it seemed it would be easily fixed. An engine mount and a driveshaft had to be replaced. I wasn’t too worried about that as my dad and i had worked on our 106 GTI rallycar which is basically the same as the Rallye.

Progress over the next few months was slow, but we eventually got the car sent away to have it fixed. Then the bad news came :(. Unfortunatley for the car the timing belt had slipped and this meant that after closer inspection with the cylinder head off it showed us that 8 valves were bent. Someone joked with me “ah well its back to standard”. I was gutted to say the least. Rang up the guy i bought the car off and he was very accomodating 🙂

The next few pages will show us how the 106 and I get along. Hope you all enjoy!!

Below are pictures that i obtained from Lindsay S2 on the Rallye Register. This is when the car before it made it across the Irish sea. Cheers Linds!

Personal Favourite of mine!
